Part 2:
Improve Skin Condition
Improve Skin Condition with GOJO®
Skin disease is the leading cause of occupational illness and one of the most costly and rapidly expanding medical conditions in the U.S. [2] Occupational skin disease, also known as contact dermatitis, is a common condition found in manufacturing plants where workers’ hands come in contact with harsh chemicals, water, solvents and other skin irritants. Many workers feel that having work-worn hands is “part of the job.” Their quality of life is affected at home and their productivity is affected at work from having dry, cracked hands.
Aside from quality of life and productivity, dermatitis costs employers billions of dollars every year. Direct medical expenses for contact dermatitis alone are more than $1.4 billon, and productivity losses are estimated to be another $500 million. [3]
The National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) reported that once workers acquire irritant contact dermatitis, 75 percent of cases may become chronic. [4]
